Introduction

Key Requirements:

I identified several key requirements for an ideal person who would join this network of tutors and/ or troubleshooters:

  • Between 18 and approximately 30 years old
  • Lives within a reasonable commuting distance to PCV/ST
  • Has strong computer skills on either the Macintosh or Windows operating system, and/or in certain widely used or sought-after applications such as Internet and email, Microsoft Office, desktop video, Photoshop, and using a digital camera, but doesn't necessarily need to be an expert
  • Is a student, unemployed, and/or looking for part-time work
  • Can and is interested in privately tutoring or helping older people on their computers at bargain rates
  • Is organized and patient, particularly with senior citizens

From an email query that I sent to about 20 students at Parsons, one person responded. He met just about all of the requirements: a 30 year-old graphic designer from Queens
